The Women’s Fund of Greater Green Bay is in search of individuals or organizations to donate purses for the silent auction at the annual Power of the Purse luncheon. This fundraising event is scheduled for September 30, 2010 at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center. The Women’s Fund, a fund of the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation, raises dollars to help support leadership and self-esteem initiatives for women and girls right here in the area.
What to donate
- Almost anything goes as long as “a purse” is the central theme
! Examples from prior years include unique individual purses that speak for themselves and theme collections (purse + a few accessories) such as a Night on the Town, a Day in the Garden, Soak up the Caribbean, Teen Dream Purse, Grandma’s Girl, etc.? - Keep in mind, a purse must be the container. No baskets please.
- Big or small contributions will make a difference in our community; donated silent auction items have ranged in value from $25-$400.
How do I donate
- Complete a 2010 Purse Silent Auction Donation Form.
- Estimate the value of your auction item for tax purposes for the purchaser.
- Provide a description of the purse and contents to aid in the marketing of the items.
- Deliver the purse and completed form and you’re done!
Dates to remember:

- Deliver your purse to Schenck SC by Friday, September 10, 2010 – (Note: Schenck closes at 1:00 pm on Fridays from Memorial Day through Labor Day)
- The Power of the Purse is Thursday, September 30, 2010 – Radisson Hotel and Conference Center.
