“Being supported by the Women’s Fund has provided an exciting chance for a group of young Somali women from our community to share their stories far and wide. The grant we received has allowed the United ReSISTERs group to embark on a year of writing that will culminate this spring in a published book titled The First Winter. This book is about hearing stories from their own voices and is intended to be a tool for our community and communities across our country to use to help open the discussion about refugees and dig deeper into our inherent assumptions about Muslim women. I am proud to be doing this work and know it would not have been possible without the support of the Women’s Fund taking a chance on such a unique project.”
Thank you to all of our volunteers, supporters, and attendees for 15 years of success.
