Meet Kim Linehan, Women’s Fund of Greater Green Bay Events Chair, 2018-2021.
I first became aware of the Women’s Fund of Greater Green Bay through my friend Kim Schanock. I attended a number of Power of the Purse (POP) events but became more ‘hands-on’ interested in the work of the Women’s Fund after my sister-in-law was one of the POP speakers. Kate Hogan opened the door to the Women’s Fund Board, gave me a little push, and I have been the Events Chair and served on the grants committee for the last three years. I feel fortunate to help bring funds into the endowment, and have a voice in where those funds are distributed to support local projects, opportunities, and programs.
I believe some of the greatest needs in our community are equal access to employment, development of skills related to self-worth and healthy life choices, direct preparation for specific jobs, and catching girls very early with mentoring and support. The Women’s Fund is in a unique position to have a wide lens across the needs in our community. We are fortunate to have the power of a strong endowment and talented support to help make smart decisions on how we can make a lasting impact. I am both honored and energized to be surrounded and lifted up by a dedicated, generous, and talented group of individuals.
