“Nearly seven years ago, I graduated college, moved to Green Bay and started working as a part-time staff member of the Boys & Girls Club in one of their school sites. In 2012, I accepted a position with the Girl Scouts managing the area’s Reaching Out programs. As my work took my team and I into public schools, various after school programs and the city’s juvenile detention facilities, I realized the value of collaboration. Because of the efforts of my like-minded peers, our organization was able to make the Girl Scout Leadership Experience accessible for all girls.
As collaboration is at the core of the GreatHER Together program, we [Girl Scouts, Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay and Green Bay Public Schools] have been able to provide girls with new experiences and connect them to the resources and support they need throughout the challenging years of middle school.
Having been fortunate to serve as the program coordinator for the past three years, I feel confident that the generosity of those who have supported this pilot program, will come full circle when these girls become strong female leaders in this same community. Thank you for investing in these girls as they provide us all with the greatest return – hope.”
