I was a little surprised and intimidated to receive the invite after current board member Barbara Koldos told me that I’d be the first male to serve on the board. I’ve attended the Power of the Purse events in the past and knew what an amazing group of leaders the Women’s Fund was. I have served on previous boards in the area over the years and currently serve on the Children’s Museum board. Growing up in Green Bay and working at BayCare Clinic, I know what a need there is to stay involved and hopefully use my relationships that I’ve built overtime to make the community better. I wanted to serve as an example for my two daughters, 13 and 10 years old. My wife and I have always stressed that they need to “be a leader” at school, at the dance studio, or on the soccer team. I look forward to involving them with some volunteer roles at future events and showing them that leadership isn’t something you talk about; it’s something you do. Although the Board hasn’t met in person yet, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed our Zoom meetings, and everyone has been so welcoming. I consider myself very lucky to be a part of such a strong and successful group of women and look forward to contributing any way I can!
