For many people, job searching can be a stressful, overwhelming, and expensive process. To help local women overcome the hurdles to applying and interviewing for a new job, the YWCA Women’s Empowerment Center held an “Outfitting Women for Success” workshop series. Thanks to the support of a Women’s Fund grant, almost 90 women in our community benefited from this important training.
The workshop series included the following sessions:
- Branding for Success
- Dressing for Success
- Living for Success.
Branding for Success equipped participants with essential career-building tools to find employment and advance their careers, including assistance with resume writing, job searching and interviewing skills. Attendees also had the opportunity to receive one-on-one coaching with a professional career coach in the Women’s Empowerment Center.
As part of Dressing for Success, women were given practical tools to create a professional image through wardrobe building, makeup application and/or hair styling. Each attendee had the opportunity to work with a personal shopper in the Women’s Career Closet and the Madison Street Boutique at the YWCA.
Living for Success provided attendees with important tools for discovering and nurturing their sense of self. Facilitated by a professional life coach, participants focused on building their self-esteem and confidence.
Based on surveys from the participants, the response to the workshop series was overwhelmingly positive. As a supporter of the Women’s Fund of Greater Green Bay, your assistance allows women in our community to build their self-confidence and change the trajectory of their life. Thank you!
